The Queen of Engaland uses Eminence Organic Skin Care products. It is said that her niece Princess Mia Thermopolis of Genovia turned her on to them when they were colonising the Bermuda Triangle. The Queen was once quoted as saying that Eminence products are secret beauty potions that keep her going, lasting longer than eight Presidents of the United States put together - and looking more radiant than Bill Clinton (circa Ms Lewinsky).
You haven’t heard of Eminence? Oh my. They make some of my favourite skin care products in the world. And since some of you are not intimately aquainted, what else to do but consult with the greatest skin care expert in the world.
I invited the Princess of Genovia to review the latest products that Eminence released. Here is her review:
What I Used
Neroli Age Corrective Eye Serum, Bamboo Firming Fluid, Coconut Firming Body Lotion and Coconut Age Corrective Moisturiser.
What is Great
Eminence excels in producing products for any skin type - even that of dewy princess skin like my own. All Eminence products smell divine, and do not contain artificial colours, fragrances or genetically modified ingredients. They are also paraben, sulphate, mineral oil and petroleum free. For me, not only do I experience fantastic performance from Eminence that I have stayed with them all these years, I never tire from the touch and smell of these products.
Of the toniques, I require the Mimosa Champagne Tonique to be sprayed in front of me wherever I go. And the Honeydew Body Lotion is so satisfying, I needn’t marry. I have dozens of memories that bring me back to the time and place where I first smelled it. Like when I turned down my first marriage proposal the day the Green Apple Sugar Scrub was presented to me, or when I undertook a week’s cleanse of only smelling Eminence face masques. All Eminence Moisturizers contain the Swiss Green Apple stem cell fluid that drives the results-end of these products.
What’s Lacking
The containers would look prettier on my shelf if they were glass. I’d like their full ingredient list to be more available. Only active ingredients are listed on promotional material, the website and containers.
Performance
The Neroli Age Corrective Eye Serum was beautiful. It is lighter than the Herbal Eye Treatment Cream that I use. My confidant Dale would love this Eye Serum above all else, exactly for its moisturising ability balanced with lightness - especially after a day of jury fixing and the like. After ten days the sensitive skin around my eye looked and felt nurtured.
The Bamboo Firming Fluid was lovely, again very light. My skin type asks for a little more moisturising power. I ended up using this firming fluid under my regular day moisturiser, which gave my skin a perfect firming, moisturising balance. Again, I think Dale would marry this - only if it was knighted, he says.
Coconut Firming Body Lotion was very moisturising and delivered a powerful colonial South Pacific coconut scent. I didn’t feel the firming sensation in the moisturiser because I did not have enough product to try for ten days.
Age Corrective Moisturiser is amazing. It has a strong moisturising effect, with its shea butter and grape seed oil content. I felt a significant tightening effect. Simply beautiful.
Would I use this product again?
I would definitely send for the Neroli eye serum at my summer residence, when the moisture demand of my skin is less. Of the Age Corrective Moisturiser, I love the feeling on my face, especially for my evening regime. I am a little protective of the Eminence products that I currently use, but I have short-listed this product for when I want a change.
As for the Eminence range itself, it sits up there in the stratosphere of ideal existence. Like me. One of my hundreds of definitions of wealth is to own the whole Eminence Range – as in, acquire the company. It’s from my colony, isn’t it?
I learned a lot from the ladies at the Australian office when I met them on my tour. Executive Officer Tamara told me that she shares her expertise to non-princess’ also. Like Ghandi, she is said to treat untouchables and royalty the same. Her courage is royally admirable.
My Royal Routine
Morning: Stone Crop Gel Wash, Stone Crop Hydrating Mist or Champagne Mimosa Tonique, Eight Greens Youth Serum, Eight Greens Whip Moisturiser or Guava Bamboo Age-Defying Moisturiser.
Evening: Citrus Exfoliating Wash (great for after exercise such as standing, sitting, waving), Wild Plum Tonique, Black Berry Pore Refining Serum or Stone Crop Serum, Jasmine Tangerine Age-Defying Night Cream.
Masques: Pink Grapefruit Vitality Masque, Seven Herb Treatment, Eight Greens Phyto Masque, Rosehip and Maize Exfoliating Masque.
Eye: Herbal Eye Contour Cream or Wild Plum Eye Cream.
Lip: Citrus Lip Balm.
-- END REVIEW--
Princess Mia of Genovia's review is as inspiring as I had hoped. Not in the ways of the people of my nation, but in her own um, shiny way. I have always thought of her as lovely walking tinsel that talks.
Would you like to know more about the company and products? Here is a brief summary:
Company Ethos
Eminence is handmade in Hungary from organically grown herbs, fruits, flowers and vegetables. Their products focus on purity and are results-driven.
Company History
Budapest is where this story began a few decades ago. Attila called her popular beauty salon Eminence. She made the beauty products herself. Her grandsons created the company from her homemade beauty recipes, and is now based in Vancouver.
Product Promise
Eminence offers a very wide range of products, from cleansers, moisturisers, serums, scrubs, wraps, to hand and foot cream; for all skin types. They also have products that address specific problem skin such as acne and rosacea skin. Eminence promises results and has even conducted tests that support their performance.
Product Range
The definition of range should be accompanied by a picture of all the products that Eminence offers. At the time of writing, I counted 154 products for sale on the Australian website.
http://www.eminenceorganics.com.au/index.php
There are enough products to answer radically different skin care needs, from those of my husband, pre-teenage daughter, me and my mother. They have eleven cleansers, from strong enough to deliver a stripping effect, to the gentlest milky cleanser, and everything in between. They have 31 moisturisers. You might think that it’s daunting to try to find what you need but its not. Eminence lists their products on a chart, from the lightest to the thickest, or products for the driest skin to the oiliest.
Pricing
Moisturisers are sold for about AUS$100, or US$60. They are considered mid-range for an organic skin care line.
Eminence is a skin care company that resembles the future - a time that will exist when we formally connect illness and cancer to the toxins that we unwittingly apply to our skin, or pump into the air and water supply. You can be sure that you are not contributing to the load of foreign toxins that we come into contact with every day, when we bless our skin with the organic products of Eminence.
* Disclosure: Eminence products were sent to me free of charge in return for an honest review. The opinion in this article is my personal experience and not influenced by any source. I was not compensated for this article.
